KULA REAL ESTATE

The word “Kula” means “open country” in Hawaiian and this rural community lives up to its name. Typically the driest area ofKula Real Estate “Up-Country”, Kula stretches across the western facing slopes of Haleakala, from Makawao to Ulupalakua. Kula’s rich volcanic soil and cooler climates, makes the area ideal for growing many varieties of farm produce and flowers. This is truly Maui’s premiere agricultural region. Ranching and the Paniolos tradition are also still strong in Kula, particularly on the upper slopes of the crater.

Kula is known for its micro-climates. Most of the residential areas are between 1,800 ft and 3,700 ft in elevation. The wide-ranging terrain enhances the bi-coastal views of Maui’s south shore and the neighboring outer islands. Kula’s real estate is as varied as the terrain and the climate. Kula has much to offer from small country home sites, to large acreages, luxury homes, and equestrian estates. The climate, views, and people make Kula one of the most desirable locations to live on Maui.
